Colossians 3:23-24

Josh and Beth Paulick on November 4, 2014

Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”  Sometimes it is a good reminder that we are serving the Lord and that we should do everything we do with that in mind.  I (Beth) have been pretty discouraged with how much time and energy has been spent trying to get the ultrasound program for the pregnancy center going.  I was able to spend time in October going through a training in limited ultrasound and this was a verse that kept coming to my mind.  As we are serving the Lord and not men, I have been feeling that everything we do should be “above reproach.”  With that said, I am very excited to say the ultrasound program should be going by November 17th.  We have also been discouraged with how little progress we have made towards our pre field ministry.  We want to be faithful to what we have been called to, and have been struggling finding a balance between daily living/working and making progress on this.

We have spent quite a bit of time traveling in the past two months.  In September we traveled to Dallas for the Care Net conference for Beth’s work with the pregnancy center and then we went to Virginia to enjoy a week of vacation with family. October we traveled to Jacksonville, FL for an ultrasound course Beth attended, and then from there flew to San Francisco, CA where Josh was appointed as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons at the ACS annual clinical congress.

October was a rough month for Elijah. He got a “toddler fracture” in his leg and had to have a cast for about 3 weeks. He had his cast removed just before we left for Jacksonville. During a layover in Chicago on the way to San Francisco, Elijah fell and hit his eye on one of the seats in the gate area… it only took four stitches and a missed flight to learn that Chicago O’Hare International Airport has a medical center inside the security area.  He was a trooper through all of that, and didn’t let anything get him down.
Avery turned 1 in October and it was fun to be able to celebrate with family.  She's on the move now, too.
We’re looking forward to the holiday season coming up and spending time with family and friends.  We are also looking forward to our travels slowing down a little so that we will prayerfully spend time working on our pre field ministry.

Prayer and Praises:
- Praise that it appears that everything is coming into place to start the ultrasound program at the pregnancy center, continue to pray that Beth would have wisdom to handle any issues that may come up
- For Elijah’s sake, praise that the month of October is over
- Continue to pray that we would continue to be effective in our pre-field ministry
- Josh has a very stressful situation with his job that will most likely take several months to resolve.
