"I'm waiting" John Waller

Josh and Beth Paulick on April 24, 2014

“I’m waiting, I’m waiting on you Lord, and I am hopeful, I’m waiting on you Lord, though it’s painful, but patiently I will wait

And I will move ahead bold and confident, taking every step in obedience

While I’m waiting I will serve You, while I’m waiting I will worship You, while I’m waiting I will not faint, I’ll be running the race even while I wait….”
-While I’m waiting by John Waller

This song has been running through my (Beth’s) mind a lot recently.  In many ways, we feel like we are in a waiting phase.  We are waiting for our commitment to be done, waiting for a new partner to join Josh’s practice this summer, and waiting to be fully supported and head off to language school.  When I first heard this song, it was very much the sentiment of where we are on this journey.  We want to be faithful and serving Him where the Lord has us now, with still being faithful for where we feel He wants us.
We’ve had a lot of changes over the last few months.  One of which is that Beth has a new job!  It’s amazing to see how the Lord orchestrated this to all come about.  Beth will soon be starting as the nurse manager at the Open Arms Pregnancy Center here in Cambridge.  Here is a little on the backstory…. In September we attended the gala for the Open Arms Pregnancy Center where they talked about the hopes of the center getting an ultrasound machine and becoming more medical.  On the way home, that evening, Beth talked about how that would be amazing to be able to learn to do ultrasounds and wanted to learn more about volunteering there.  Then Avery was born in October and to be honest, this was kind of shoved aside and forgotten.  Fast forward to last month (in March)…One Sunday morning, Beth was discussing volunteering at the Center when someone mentioned the Center had a new position opening up.  The Lord blessed the Center with the money for an ultrasound machine in months (instead of years that it can take), and they needed a nurse manager to get trained on ultrasounds and be in charge of the medical side.  Beth decided to apply and will soon be starting.  We are just trying to find childcare, which is a prayer request. Beth will be working about 20-25 hours a week.  (If anyone knows of anyone, please let us know! :) )
This is also exciting to Beth as this is ministry that she would love to be part of in Togo.  She would love to be able to work with the women (and children) there in somewhat of a similar setting.  We aren’t completely sure what this would look like in Togo, but this is great experience and the Center was on board with Beth working there even though we knew it would only be a few years.
Another change is that Josh’s group is adding another partner this summer.  What this means is that Josh should be able to take more time off for us to be able to work on pre field ministry and hopefully travel to churches more.  We are still currently at 11% of our monthly support.  We have gained another supporter and have been very encouraged by this.  We are always looking for more supporters, whether by prayer or financially.
The kids are getting bigger and it’s been fun to see them growing and learning.  Josh has been teaching Elijah John 3:16, and he’s been asking to sing “Jesus loves me” every night before bed time.  Here is a picture of the two of them from Easter.
