Love Mercy

Josh and Beth Paulick on May 10, 2013

We are going through a devotional book for couples and a few weeks ago we went through a chapter that God used to speak to me entitled “Love Mercy.” The chapter quotes Micah 6:8 “He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” Mercy is a term that refers to benevolence, forgiveness and kindness and it is derived from a Latin word that means, “price paid.” The author of the book encouraged us to fall deeply in love with everything about mercy with both receiving it and showing it and not only how it applies to myself, but how it applies to my spouse, my children, my neighbor, and my enemy. While I continue to wrestle with this verse I am discovering how applicable it is to not only to our marriage, but also to missions and all aspects of life.

April has been a long month. Josh has been stuck at work quite a bit as on call has been much busier than usual. Beth’s grandmother went into the hospital about a week ago and has been quite ill and she passed away on May 7th. This last week has been hard on Beth and her family. We are looking forward to vacation in May and spending some quality time with just our family.

Prayer Requests/Praises:

-Pray for our family in this time of loss with the passing away of Beth’s grandma

-Praise that Beth’s morning sickness seems to be getting better

-Prayer that God would continue to raise up ministry partners with both prayer and financial support

-Praise that we are able to have this upcoming vacation

Thank you all for your love and prayers.
