Be on guard

Josh and Beth Paulick on March 27, 2019

Beth has been reading through a devotional book, “A Gentle Answer: Showering your children with words of Grace,”  and one of the topics was “Trials will come.”  1 Peter 4:12 says, “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.”  The book says, “Be on guard.  When you strive to walk in God’s word, the enemy will come to attack.  He does not want you or your family to be working in unity…I typically don’t expect it because I forget that the enemy is out there waging war on me and make me believe that I am a constant failure and can never get it right— and never will.  His goal is to make me give up.  I don’t mean Satan is responsible for my circumstance, but is certainly responsible (and known) for being a liar.”  This whole chapter was so convicting and eye opening.  It is so easy to feel like a failure and like we can’t do it at times and probably more so this week!
Starting tomorrow (Thursday) we have our second round of exams!  We have exams Thursday (28th), Friday (29th), Monday (1st) and Tuesday (2nd).  There is so much information that we have covered that both of us feel completely overwhelmed going into these exams and it can be really easy to want to just give up.  We serve a perfect God though that will help us through as we look to Him.  We are so thankful for the peace we can have in Him.  Please pray for us as we prepare for these exams and be on the lookout for a longer update after the exams!
