"...when my heart is overwhelmed..."

Josh and Beth Paulick on June 11, 2018

Psalm 61:1-2 says, “Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.  From the end of the earth, I will cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed:  lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.”  Someone in college sent this verse to me (Beth) during finals week one year in college and ever since then, I have also liked these verses and frequently look to them in times of being “overwhelmed”.

This is definitely a time of being overwhelmed, but it is an exciting time.  June has been busy with traveling, speaking at churches.  Two weeks ago, we were blessed to be able to share at Hope Bible Fellowship in Noblesville, Indiana and really enjoyed our time there.  The people made us feel so welcomed and were so hospitable.  This past Sunday, in the morning, we were blessed to speak at Calvary Baptist Church in Battle Creek, Michigan in the morning service.  My parents used to attend there (and Beth grew up in the area), so it felt a bit like coming home.  I used to come with them when I was home for the weekend, so it was nice to see some familiar faces.  We left that church feeling very encouraged and blessed and went to Grace Bible Church in Owosso, Michigan for the evening service.  We really enjoyed getting to share with the congregation and get to meet so many new people.  We have enjoyed so much getting to visit all these churches and meeting so many people who love the Lord and love missions.  It has bean so encouraging to us!

In the midst of all this traveling, we have our visa appointments in Chicago on Thursday.  If you could please pray that this time would go smoothly and that the children would cooperate with all the waiting!  We are taking a couple days to go there so hopefully after the appointments, we can have some fun with the kids in Chicago!  We are just praying that we can get our visas without any problems!

The kids were able to go to VBS at our church this past week (June 4th-8th) and had a great time!  They learned so much and had so much fun!  Josh and I were also able to both help, and really enjoyed getting to do that!  Josh was a small group leader for 5th and 6th graders (which he has never been able to do before due to work!), and I was able to help out in the craft room for the PreK and Kindergarten kids.  It was definitely fun getting to help out with Avery’s group.  Isaiah was even able to join in on some VBS fun in the nursery area.  The theme this year was Time Lab and talked about creation- the life of Christ, and talked about a Heavenly home you can have if you know Christ as your Savior and Lord.  Here’s a fun picture of Eli making slime for one of his crafts (It was also dress up day, and he was dressed as a "scientist").

We have also been busy with trying to get our belongings packed up.  We are tentatively planning another trip up to Michigan the weekend of July 29th to bring our stuff up to drop off in Lansing where a container will be shipped for the Hospital.  However, this might get tricky as our baby boy is due July 21st, the weekend before, so there’s a chance, the kids and I will not be making this trip (at least the baby and I).  We are still praying that he decides to come a little early at the beginning of July!

We are at 94% of our minimum monthly funding required by ABWE to leave.  We still need to be at 100% in order to leave in August for language school.  We are confident the Lord will provide, but please let us know if you are interested in hearing more about our ministry.  We love to be able to share how God is working and will hopefully work in Togo!  We have about 90% of our Outfit and Passage (O&P) required by ABWE raised.  Our O&P is what gets us to the field, the one time costs of the shipping container, our plane tickets, it helps pay for language school in France and it also is helping to fund the house on the compound that we will live in once we get to Togo.  We are currently selling T-shirts and have 5 days left if you are interested in buying one!  We have sold 62 already and our goal is to sell 100!  Here is the link if you are interested in buying one!  https://www.bonfire.com/paulicks-to-togo/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=campaign_page&utm_campaign=paulicks-to-togo&utm_content=default

We are getting so excited though as we are getting closer to going!  We have reserved our plane tickets tentatively for August 26th and are excited for this next step!  Thank you so much for your prayers!
