"Facing a Task Unfinished"

Josh and Beth Paulick on March 11, 2018

“Facing a task unfinished that drives us to our knees, a need that, undiminished, rebukes our slothful ease.  We, who rejoice to know thee, renew before thy throne the solemn pledge we owe thee to go and make Thee known…We bear the torch that flaming, fell from the hands of those, who gave their life proclaiming that Jesus died and rose, ours is the same commission, the same glad message ours, fired by the same ambition to Thee we yield our powers, we go to all the world, with kingdom hope unfurled, no other name has power to save, But Jesus Christ the Lord…” February 25th we were able to go to Calvary Baptist Church in Xenia, Ohio.  While we were sharing our vision of ministry, I suddenly realized the date and that the next day, February 26th would be 3 years since the hospital had their opening ceremony.  At the time we were so excited to see the videos of all the hard work being accomplished and starting out in a new way.  However, a year later, God decided to call our teammate and friend, Todd DeKryger, home to be with Him. Todd and his wife Jennifer were such an instrumental part in helping to see the vision of the ministry and it was hard for that loss of knowing we would not be serving with Him, and grappling with why the Lord would call him home to be with Him.  We sang the song, “Facing a task unfinished” (by Keith and Kristyn Getty) and Beth felt it so fitting as every time we sing that song, it is hard not to think of Todd and how we have the same commission and long to serving on the field, providing hope to the people of Mango.

We have so much to be thankful for!  We are just $50 short of reaching our goal of 85% of the support required by ABWE by the beginning of April in order to attend our next training session at ABWE headquarters and we are confident the Lord will provide.  We are diligently working on our assigned reading and our courses in order to also get them finished by the beginning of April.  Please be praying with us that we can continue to work diligently on those.  As a mommy of three small children (and one on the way!), it can be hard to work on the courses and reading required, but we are trying to be faithful in getting our part finished as well.

We also have some exciting news as we have been officially accepted into the language school in Albertville, France.  In order to go though, we need to be at 100% of our support requirements through ABWE.  Our goal that we have been praying towards is that we can reach 100% by the end of April, so that we can work on getting ready to leave, getting the required visas, getting our container packed, and having a baby.  We will also be having an increase in our support requirements in July when the baby is born, so we want to be prepared for that increase.  Please let us know if you are considering joining our partnership team and we would love to get together and share our vision with you.  For those of you that have told us you want to partner with our ministry financially but haven’t had the time to sign up, this is your reminder and here is the link: http://www.abwe.org/work/support

During our recent OB appointment we found out we are having another boy.  The boys are all excited about it and at first Avery was sad that she wasn’t going to have a sister, but she is starting to come around to the idea of getting to be the only girl in the family (besides mommy).

We realized after we sent out the email that we failed to update our puzzle!  We are still at 84% of our support requirements through ABWE.  Each puzzle piece represents about $30/month of our monthly support requirements needed through ABWE.  As we stated above, please let us know if you are interested in joining our partnership team!
