Enter His gates with Thanksgiving...

Josh and Beth Paulick on November 28, 2017

Psalm 100 “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! 2) Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! 3) Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us and we are his; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture. 4) Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! 5) For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.”  For the month of November, Elijah has been memorizing this passage and yesterday, he quoted the whole passage from memory without any help!  He humbles me at times with how quickly he picks up verses and loves learning them!  This passage has been such a good reminder of how much we have to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!
We sold both of our houses!  We sold our house in Cambridge (mentioned in our last prayer letter) on October 3rd.  We sold our house in Kettering on November 10th, so we are officially now no longer homeowners.  It was such an answer to prayer and we appreciate everyone prayers!
It has been a busy month!  Beth was able to fly out to California and spend some time with her sister-in-law and nieces and nephew, trying to help them with traveling back from San Diego and then helping them get moved into their new apartment after their house they were renting in Santa Rosa burned down in the wildfires.  We are incredibly thankful for the Lord’s protection over them.  Beth had a good time spending time with them.  The day Beth was coming home though, Elijah had an accident during recess at school where we collided with another child and hit his head on the blacktop.  On the way to the airport, he vomited in the car, so we were concerned there was something going on and took him to the emergency room on the way home from the airport.  He was diagnosed with a concussion, so we had to monitor his activity. In general he seems to be getting better, but at times we are concerned he is still having headaches occasionally and not telling us about them.
A few days after Beth got back, Josh left for a medical missions conference in Louisville, Kentucky.  He enjoyed his time there trying to recruit people to come to Togo with us and getting to spend some time with our teammates while hearing some great speakers.
On November 19th, we were able to worship with Dr. Bob Crospy and his wife at their home church and had a wonderful time of fellowship with them.  We then spoke at a church near Lansing for the evening service, First Baptist Church of St. Johns, Michigan.  We had a great weekend!
This past weekend, we were able to celebrate Thanksgiving with our families.  It was very nice to be near them and not have to travel far to see them all!
Please continue to be in prayer for Togo as there has been some political unrest in the country recently with demonstrations and riots in the capital city and even in Mango.  Although our teammates are safe, they have seen more patients at the hospital and have to be more cautious.
We are now at 77% of our monthly support.  Our goal is to be at 100% by the end of April so that we can focus on getting our container packed and getting ready to leave for language school in August when the next class starts up.  We have been reaching out to churches, setting dates to speak.  If you are interested in partnering with us, please let us know and we would love to share more about our ministry with you.  Or if you know of any churches, we always love sharing and would be happy to share.  We would love to reach 80% before the New Year, which would be about 2 partners at $100/month, 5 partners at $50/month, or 8 partners at $25/month.  As Giving Tuesday is upon us, remember we also do have some one time expenses that we need to raise funds for, including having to raise funds to help build the house that we will live in on the hospital compound.     We are so excited as Christmas approaches.  We bought a new book that hopefully will help us with teaching the kids the real reason we have to celebrate and it will be good for us as well to keep our hearts and minds focused on the reason we have to celebrate!  We are so thankful for God’s work in our lives and how He has been in everything we have done.
