Anchor

Josh and Beth Paulick on April 27, 2017

Beth has always really liked the symbolism of the anchor.  The idea that if we are “anchored” in the Lord, we have a “sure and steadfast” foundation.  Hebrews 6:19 “We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul…”  This is a good reminder to us to stay grounded in the Lord and trust Him, even when things get discouraging.  We have verses for each of the kids, and this is the verse we have prayed for Isaiah and have hanging in his room.

We were disappointed that we didn’t make our goal of 85% by April 10th, but we knew it was a lofty goal to set.  We are confident that we will still be able to leave by January 2018, but to do that our goal is to be at 85% by September and 100% by November so we will have time to get final clearance to leave for language school in January.  We have reached our goal to be at 50% and plan to be able to attend our training at ABWE headquarters this summer, so that is a huge answer to prayer!  The training at 85% is offered in April and November, so we want to be able to attend in November.    Our goal at this point is to be at 100% by October 31st.
We are at 61% now and have had 3 families make verbal commitments and a church prayerfully considering partnering with us!  We are so excited to see how God is moving and bringing us closer to Togo.   If you have ever thought about partnering with our ministry in Togo, please let us know and we would love to meet with you!  Here is our updated puzzle.  Each puzzle represents $25/month of our monthly support needed.

Josh was able to attend the new medical missionary training from CMDA (Christian Medical and Dental Association) in March.  He gained some valuable training during his time there and was able to fellowship with some other medical missionaries. Unfortunately Beth and the kids were not able to come to the conference. We are glad it seems like the run of illness in our family that started while Josh was at the conference is coming to an end.  This was the training required by Project MedSend, the organization who accepted us to help pay Josh’s school loans while we are in full time ministry.
It was a blessing to be able to celebrate Josh’s birthday and the resurrection of our Lord on Easter weekend with family.  The kids were so happy to be able to spend Easter with Grandma and Grandpa.  We have also been having some meetings with individuals and families as well as trying to get some of our assignments for our training in July completed.
Eli just finished soccer season at the YMCA.  It was really fun to watch him play and I know he enjoyed getting to play.  Avery and Eli are getting ready to play T-ball for the next month.  It is going to be a busy month in May with Elijah finishing up preschool and with a couple churches we are able to present our ministry at.  We are looking forward to the month and everything we have going on.

Prayer and Praises
1.) Our house in Kettering, Ohio will soon be on the market.  Please pray that we will be able to get it sold quickly.
2.)  Praise as we may have some potential buyers if everything works out.
3.) Praise as the Lord has been working, and helping direct us with new partners.  Please continue praying that we will be led by Him,
4.)  Please pray for our teammates in Togo who have been working with Hope Radio.  They were very excited to have significant progress only to have a devastating storm come through last night taking the roof off of the radio station and the radio antenna down. Here is the link to the prayer letter our teammates wrote that shows some of the destruction and how you can help.
