Bell Sheep

Josh and Beth Paulick on December 3, 2016

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.  6. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.  7. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise…” Deuteronomy 6:5-7.  This has been on my (Beth’s) heart and mind recently while reading “Raising a Daughter after God’s Own Heart.”  In the first chapter of the book, Elizabeth George speaks about a “Bell sheep.”  A Bell sheep is a sheep who follows the shepherd willingly and closely.  The shepherd places a bell around their neck so the other sheep will follow the one following the shepherd.  I have been praying to be a bell sheep to my children and to be teaching them when I “walk by the way…lie down…and rise.”
We are so excited to have an increase in our support!  We are now currently at 39% of our support raised.  We are so excited to see God continue to work and bring new partners.  If God is calling you to partner with us let us know and we’d love to meet with you.
With traveling every weekend (except the weekends Josh has been on call), we were happy for a little bit of a break after Nov 12th.  With the holiday events at most churches, we aren’t visiting any churches until after the New Year. It will be nice to spend that with our church family at Trinity in Cambridge where we are going to be leading a Bible Study on Sunday nights for the adults during Awana.  We are excited to be able to have this opportunity.  We will also be spending some time with our families during December.
It was very nice to spend Thanksgiving with Beth’s family (all 3 of us kids, spouses and the 6 children.)  It was definitely crazy with 6 children 6 and under but it was also really nice to all be together.
We are definitely looking forward to Christmas and the reminder of Jesus’ birth.  We’ve been going through a Christmas devotional with kids and I have always loved the reminder of the name Immanuel, “God with us.”  It is always such a good reminder that Jesus came to earth to dwell among the people, and that God is still always with us.  We hope that you all are able to spend some time with your families and remember the true reason why we celebrate.  Merry Christmas!

Prayer and Praises:
1.       Praise that we have seen new partners join with us
2.       Prayer that God would continue to raise up partners
3.       Praise for the time we were able to spend time with family over Thanksgiving.
4.       Pray for the Hospital of Hope maintenance staff as they work on the Oxygen systems. The hospital Oxygen delivery system is not working which significantly impacts care of patients with respiratory illnesses.
