"I need thee every hour"

Josh and Beth Paulick on March 10, 2015

“I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord; No tender voice like Thine can peace afford…I need thee every hour, in joy or pain; come quickly and abide, or life is in vain…I need thee every hour; teach me Thy will, and Thy rich promises in me fulfill…”
Recently, I (Beth) saw on a friend’s blog that these words were penned by a 37 year old mother Annie S Hawks.  One day when going about her daily tasks of being a wife and mother she wrote, “Suddenly, I became so filled with the sense of nearness to the Master that, wondering how one could live without Him, either in joy or pain, these words, “I Need Thee Every Hour,” were ushered into my mind, the thought at once taking full possession of me.”  The words of this song have become near and dear to my heart as a young wife and mother also, and I have been thinking about them a lot recently.  We have been in a season of joy these last months.  One of the greatest causes of joy in our family is seeing the Hospital of Hope opening day.  Here is the exciting video that shows the inauguration of the Hospital in which the President of Togo was present as well as the US ambassador to Togo. https://vimeo.com/121229304.  The opening has made us more excited about getting to Togo.  We pray for Togo every night and one night at bedtime, Elijah told Josh, “I think God wants us to go to Togo.”  It touches our hearts to think that even at his young age, he is sensitive to what God wants.

We also have the exciting news of finding out we will be having a new addition to the family.  We are expecting again and are due August 30th.  Elijah is excited about having a new brother or sister, and Avery will come to like it :)  We hope.
With finding out we were expecting, we had a bit of a challenge.  We are also very excited to share that we are working on the details to be traveling to Togo in June for a short term trip to help with surgical coverage.  We are still working on the details, but it did become more challenging with the news of the pregnancy.  If all goes as planned, we will be about 27 weeks when we would be leaving for Togo, so please pray with us for a healthy pregnancy and that nothing will prevent us from going.  Elijah has been telling everyone that “we are going to Togo tomorrow…”
We are setting a lofty goal of being at 50% by July 1st. Reaching this goal would meet the deadline for us to be able to attend the next training course at ABWE headquarters. We know that this seems to be a lofty goal, but if it’s the Lord’s will, we will be there :)  To do that, we need people to partner with us, whether by prayer or financially.  We are currently at 11% still, but we believe that God is able to accomplish all through us!  Please let us know if you would like to know more about our ministry, or if you want to know more about supporting us.

Prayer and Praises:
Praise that the Hospital of Hope has opened and is providing quality health care and more importantly helping to share the Gospel.
Praise for our family’s new addition due this August.
Pray that God would continue to raise up ministry partners
Pray that we would be able to reach our goal of 50% of our support by July 1.
