"Do everything you do to the Glory of the one who made you"

Josh and Beth Paulick on January 29, 2013

While driving to Parent/Child swim classes with Elijah this morning, a song came on the radio.  It is called, "Do Everything" by Steven Curtis Chapman.  Here are some ofthe lyrics that really touched my heart...

“You're picking up toys on the living room floor for the 15th time today
Matching up socks, Sweeping up lost cheerios that got away

You put a baby on your hip, color on your lips and head out the door

While I may not know you, I bet I know you
Wonder sometimes, does it matter at all?

Well let me remind you, it all matters just as long
As you do everything you do to the glory of the One who made you,
Cause he made you, To do
Every little thing that you do
To bring a smile to His face
Tell the story of grace
With every move that you make
And every little thing you do…”

One of my (Beth’s) dad’s favorite verses is 1 Corinthians 10:31, so we heard it a lot growing up.  “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”  This song was such a good reminder, that yes, although it feels sometimes that all the mundane things we do don’t matter, we need to do everything to the Honor and Glory of God.

We had a busy month of December spending time with family, and all the Christmas celebrations.  We were able to have a vacation with all of Beth’s family, which was a huge blessing and definitely fun.

We enjoyed Christmas with Elijah, and with family from both sides of our family.

Elijah had his first time in the snow, over Christmas, and he seemed to love it!

However, the day after Christmas, our family was in a car accident.  We are so thankful that we were all ok, and so thankful our car is fixed!

Praises

1.     None of us were injured in the car crash

2.     We were able to spend quality time with family over Christmas

Prayer Requests

  1. Josh with his upcoming oral surgery board
  2. That we would have an effective pre-field ministry

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!

Love,
Josh, Beth and Elijah
